Widad, 60, fans her 6-month-old grandson Yousif in their apartment after the electricity stopped working and they could not run air conditioning or fans. The family, who live in the western Baghdad neighborhood of Meshtel, cannot afford private generators and receives approximately 2 hours of intermittent electricity a day supplied by the state. On hot summer days the temperature in the apartment rises to over 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Baghdad, Iraq, July 16, 2010
